those who love the latest technology. To be honest I haven't noticed a big obvious difference between my ecobee 4 and the new one yet. Old sensors work great with it and are very easy to migrate. The new sensor is very different from the installation and got us a little confused because it cannot be installed at all like the old sensors. You use the app to set the new ones and the thermostat is used to sync the old ones. I had a room that I think often momentarily lost connection due to the distance. It's been quite a while, but so far there's no loss of communication with the new smart sensor. The thermostat is pretty easy to install and ecobee still has great tech support. This thermostat can be set up more automatically like a Nest, but also has plenty of manual settings if that's what you want. I chose manual because my system runs on dueling fuel, but since we have natural gas we prefer not to use a heat pump. It's easy with Nest, but harder with Ecobee. I had to contact support for help to bypass the heat pump. You were great! The stats are amazing and much more detailed than the Nest stats. Ecobee has detailed running times for stages, fans, heating, cooling, utilities, etc. There is also humidity, sensor, weather influence, etc. I haven't gone through a full calendar month, so I don't have extended stats yet. The thermostat, in my opinion, is not ugly, as some say. However, accessing the features is much easier than in Nest IMO. It has a full color touchscreen that is very responsive. All functions are available on the thermostat and everything except installation settings is available on the web portal and iOS app. Unfortunately I haven't tried Android yet. The reason I chose the Ecobee Smart Thermostat with Voice I was a Nest user from the start, but due to the lack of new innovation and the threat posed by Google to the ecosystem, I had to change the entire HVAC duct system and rebuild shape. I decided to try the Ecobee-4 about 3 weeks ago because the new system design included one thermostat per 3000m²+. I felt that remote sensors would be a good virtual zoning system to balance spaces when needed. I had the ecobee-4 and 10 sensors and was very impressed with how well they worked until I was informed of ecobee's new voice controlled smart thermostat. Nest just wasn't able to create a virtual zone system with sensors. Also, I prefer my Revain ecosystem over Google ecosystem because Amazing works better with my home automation.
