Do not buy this product without looking closely

Let me start by saying that I'm 4 have it in my house. When I first got them they worked great. But for some time in the last 6 months they "upgraded" them to include a feature called ecobee+. Now, by way of introduction, let me say that I am a techie and a licensed contractor. I'm also fortunate to have solar panels that provide almost all of the electricity I need. Ecobee Smart Thermostat more than replaces Nest Smart Thermostat

those who love the latest technology. To be honest I haven't noticed a big obvious difference between my ecobee 4 and the new one yet. Old sensors work great with it and are very easy to migrate. The new sensor is very different from the installation and got us a little confused because it cannot be installed at all like the old sensors. Fast interface and improved sound. Still ugly but works better than Nest

I just upgraded from a 3rd gen Nest thermostat with 2 remote sensors. I loved Nest for its simplicity and design. I have a nest about 6 years old. I'm not a Google fan and now they have Nest.
