SHARP POINT and narrow eye
These needles should be blunt but have a very sharp point. You can see the point if you look closely at the point of the needle, and you can definitely FEEL the point if you accidentally prick yourself with it while trying to sew with black thread. There is one more quality of these needles that makes them great and terrible at the same time. The eye of the needle is very narrow. It was very difficult to thread my worsted yarn through the eyelet. Once there, however, it stayed in place well. The narrow eye becomes a plus point when sewing with yarn, since the eye of the needle does not stretch the stitches.
