These needles should be blunt but have a very sharp point. I just received these needles today and they are terrible. I searched for "24 tapestry needles" and they came up. I use them for cross stitch workshops so I don't like spending too much money on needles which is the main reason I bought them from a dozen other options. But I've learned my lesson and will no longer try to save a few bucks. These needles are huge.
