Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Cuisinart CSG-466 Digital Folding Probe Thermometer: Accurate Temperature Monitoring in Sleek Black Design by Amrozi Papi

Good tool for grilling

This was the first time I've used a food probe to check the temperature of the meat/chicken I'm grilling, I just never thought it was that important. I've read some other reviews and many of them compare this sensor to other, more expensive sensors - just thinking about that and nothing else. First thoughts - I like the device. It's easy to use, uncluttered, a good size, and has an easy-to-read display. The probe folds up so it doesn't just stick out and get in the way. Others have found that it can be difficult to pull the probe out in this low position when wearing gloves, and I'm perfectly aware of this, although I don't wear gloves when grilling. The temperature seems relatively accurate - I didn't want exact accuracy - come to think of it, I've never used a temperature gauge before - so a few degrees here and there meant nothing. But it was nice to be able to check the temperature of the steaks and chickens I was grilling, just for that proverbial peace of mind. Now when I grill I prefer to cut and inspect the meat and dislike over-done meat, but since I have a tool I will definitely use it. in the future and teaching my boys how to operate a grill with that in mind. I can't recall what other "negatives" there were about the Cuisinart probe - a very simple, straight forward instrument indeed. The batteries are easy to install, the rubber grip makes it easy to grip, the nice little backlight, and the buttons are easy to press to operate the probe. All in all a good tool for grilling or cooking.
