I have just received my expensive welding helmet and found it says 'Made in China' on the bottom of the box! I wrongly thought that since Lincoln Electric is a proud American company with a great reputation and has been making quality products for over 100 years, I would have spent a lot of money on a "Made in the USA" welding helmet. These are my eyes I'm protecting here, so I don't want to buy cheap Chinese eye protection. I ordered the black version but they sell the Star and Stripe model that says "AMERICA"! Imagine if you paid extra for it and then you see the words "Made in China" on the bottom of the box! And get this, there are some stickers in the helmet box and some of them are the US flag for you to stick on your helmet. Of course, there is no Chinese flag sticker. It seems it would be quite appropriate since it is made in China. Shame on you Lincoln Electric for using the Stars and Stripes patriotic smoke screen to sell your products. At the moment I'm not sure whether to keep or return this welding helmet. I'll check local welders to see if I have an option. I will update later.
