Xlg Full-Motion Wall Plate only 23 " wide, not 33.8 "

In my case, I wanted to mount the largest possible TV on a 68" wide wall . Bought the full swivel TV mount because it was advertised as 33.8 inches wide and I would have preferred it to either rest on three studs or be wide enough to center in the wall and still be on at least two hairpins to rest. The specified wall panel width is incorrect. Its width is only 23 inches, not 33.8 inches. Reviewers who mention it can hit three 16-inch spikes are wrong. You must have considered a different model. Yes, it is strong and well made. Holes in the drywall just to be 100% sure where the center of the wood stud is, you can see exactly where to pre-drill the screws. I couldn't hit three bolts, I had to be content with hitting two and pushing the mounting plate aside. For this reason, my TV is pushed to the side as far as possible on the horizontal mounting rails. Totally out of the way and by mounting the panel as close to the center of the back wall as possible, I was unable to center my TV on the wall. It's about an inch down. horizontal guides, possibly on four studs, control the 3 degree horizontal alignment. Hopefully expanding the TV over time doesn't require realignment as the £80 TV is slowly turning that panel out of alignment. The bottom line is that this mount cannot accurately center the TV on any given stand. If the plate were a few inches wider at the back it would be possible to position the plate where the TV could actually be centered wherever you like. It would be nice if the tilt adjustment didn't require a tool like I've seen with some other mounts. To do this you need to break your Allen key.
