For single machines, not for blade models with combination machines. Aside from being compact, I really like these cars for a reason and some might not appreciate them as much as I do. There are some ergonomic issues that I will address. I bought them specifically for the emergency kit simply because of the small space savings compared to traditional clippers. The size difference is really tiny but still enough for me to invest. However, I think that after some use they might become my go-to hair clipper. The cutting jaws are actually fairly flat, and they're also set at a greater vertical angle than you typically see on trimmers. If you tend to let your nails grow out for quite a while before trimming, you may need to do multiple passes to trim them completely. But for me it's perfect as I often cut my nails too much. The shallow depth and almost 90° angle of the jaws make trimming quite a challenge for me, but it's not such a big difference that I find them ineffective when trimming nails. I don't do two passes as I mentioned because I don't let my nails grow out. That's why I like her so much, but there are problems. I will say they are just a little uncomfortable to hold and I haven't decided which grip suits me best yet. Sometimes I hold it right side up, thumb on the trimmer lever, index finger tucked under the body, and the rest of my fingers wrapped around the nail file while it points straight out. Alternatively, I sometimes hold them upside down, with my thumb covering the large Victorinox logo on the underside, my index and middle fingers over the cutting arm and with the file at about a 45° angle, while the rest of my fingers wrap around it almost like a clumsy pistol. to grab. The file is riveted to the body but rotates freely, making it difficult to find the best position that suits your ergonomic tastes. Closing is also a bit fiddly, but not that difficult. If you don't do this you will scratch the flat head of the cutting arm with the file and I believe over time this will reduce the effectiveness of the file and aesthetically damage the cutting arm by scratching it. It's really not that difficult to close it, you just have to know that there is a proper procedure to close it. The file itself looks fine; large enough surface and sufficiently abrasive, like any file. The flathead screwdriver at the end of the file is slightly rounded so it won't cut your hand at all. I have yet to use it as a screwdriver, but I doubt that rounding the edges will greatly affect its effectiveness. What will impact is that there isn't a good way to hold them to use a screwdriver, so I didn't use it that way. This add-on is valuable in a pinch as it doesn't really affect the clipper's functionality and saves some weight, but I don't expect to ever use it. The reason you wanted to take your nail clippers apart doesn't really have a good way to do it. They're more technical than most nail clippers (Swiss, of course) but I don't see any problem areas that will need servicing in the future. scratched by your other stuff. The inner lining is another soft plastic that I don't recognize; appears to be a little larger than the outside, with an almost cloth-like texture that I may have seen in some cheap pen or glasses cases. I still have to use the small key loop. It's small but seems strong enough to withstand the force of the rocking clippers. I would recommend keeping the clipper in your pocket when hanging it on the keys as they are spring loaded when closed and can open unexpectedly if you are not careful. I don't think it's for everyone. . It fits really well in a survival jar or whatever you have. Cuts well, at least the way I like it. The file is very nice, but not an uncommon feature and most of the time it really gets in the way. A screwdriver is a good idea, not very useful in my opinion, but it looks like Victorinox uses branded bits and pieces that will almost never come in handy except in one instance where it's really useful.
