Review on πŸ”₯ Energy Efficient Cozy Legs Flat Panel Office Desk Space Heater by Cozy Products - 200-Watts, ETL Listed, 19 x 13 Inches, 5 lbs., Black by Joe Pettigrew

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for what it's meant to be.

Even though I blocked three sides under my desk, it's still cold, especially on cloudy days or before the sun comes up and warms the south wall of my house. My Cozy Legs comes with a switch with two heat settings: 100w and 200w (I tested it on a meter) and it works great on the 100w setting to get the chill out of the area under my desk . The 200w setting is warmer, but I also notice more warm air being lifted and I don't want to dry my eyes out, so no fan heater will work for me in a desert climate, especially under a desk. You can experiment to see if this type of radiant heat works for you under your desk by placing a lamp or two under your desk using old incandescent bulbs. It's a bit better because you don't get as much light, and the flat panel disperses heat better than an incandescent bulb, giving off a heat direction from the front of the heater to the outside. The flat panel oil heater mentioned below does not. It heats up on both sides. Another test is to put a 600W oil heater under your desk, but with the thermostat off, in the 100-200W range, barely warm. So, but it doesn't take up space. There is a manufacturer of small flat panel oil heaters but they use more electricity so I decided I needed a completely silent low wattage heater instead. One person in the comments mentioned that this only radiates from the front, which few other heaters do, so I wanted that feature too. One person in the comments said that the hotplate is glass on the front, but I think it's hard plastic. . The heater had only a very slight odor the first day of use, less than a new computer monitor and after that it was unnoticeable which was very important to me and I read all the reviews about it to make sure no one was saying it stink. There's a California warning that I suspect has more to do with the heater being made of a certain type of plastic than with it actually releasing harmful levels of chemicals from the plastic, although I don't know exactly White. The heater is absolutely silent, and low power is what I really wanted. I have oil heaters as the main heat source. I don't have a passive house, but my house is made of materials with passive heating properties, so space heating is possible. I like that the heating element is ceramic inside which means it will likely last a long time. Just take a look. I have a fairly conventional oil heater that I bought from a large department store and after twenty years of regular winter use it works like new. I would like it to be light alloy with a glass panel on the front, but I understand that in this case it will probably cost more. It's well done and I'll come back to lower my rating if it fails in just a few years. In my opinion one of the most reliable models, especially in this price range. After receiving it, I would like to buy it again. But I won't give it 5 stars because I think too many people are buying it thinking it will serve as their main heat source and it won't unless your office is the size of a closet. If your table is not locked. in the leg area, it does not work in a cold or drafty room or office. Again, if a few lightbulbs warm up that area, that will work too, or even better.

Pros
  • Same as all before
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
