At 200W (two 100W bulbs), this device won't heat up your basement office BUT it will keep your legs and feet warm if you sit at your desk for a long time. Bought to store conveniently under my desk in winter. I hung blankets over the front and rear open legroom areas, thinking that even at 200 watts they should be able to heat such a small, now enclosed space. Unfortunately, this product has no noticeable effect on the ambient temperature. The panel itself heats up to a point where it's uncomfortable to touch with bare hands for long periods of time, but even after 9 hours of use, the space under my desk remains as cold as ever.

Excellent for creating soft, casual air heating. Warms like the sun, with radiant heat. Space heating is achieved only after the physical object has absorbed enough heat to warm the surrounding air. Even though I blocked three sides under my desk, it's still cold, especially on cloudy days or before the sun comes up and warms the south wall of my house. My Cozy Legs comes with a switch with two heat settings: 100w and 200w (I tested it on a meter) and it works great on the 100w setting to get the chill out of the area under my desk .
