Really good soldering iron

One night my cheap Yahuan brand soldering station died and I had to run to WalMart for a $10 POS to finish building a bluetooth speaker for my grandson. Well you get what you pay for and it was only a matter of time before. I replaced my station with two of these and a small air pistol, and I'm glad I did. This little dude heats up quickly and stays HOT way longer than I need at any given time. given time and easy on batteries. It's also designed so that you can just put it anywhere and it won't burn the surface. So I can solder, plug, solder, plug and so on. It runs on AA batteries. I switched to rechargeable batteries a long time ago, so I didn't even have to buy anything, but I highly recommend you spend $20 on batteries and a charger. You will not regret it. However, it seems to run for hours on 4 batteries. In fact, it's probably a full hour or more of continuous use, but I don't use it that way. It heats up so quickly that I work in batches, turning it off between burns of about 10 minutes. It comes with a cover so you can put it on even when the iron is hot (but I didn't). I bought two of these so if one fails I have a spare. I wish there was a thinner lace than what was provided and I looked a bit but not enough to be sure they don't make them. However, the one provided is generally suitable for most jobs. Overall, this is a thoughtful, well-built kit that has unplugged me. Love it.
