Review on Enhanced Efficiency with Freud Classical Shank Quadra Cut 38 362 by Jon Ford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Extremely smooth cutting edge

If you use one of these you will never go back to cheap cutting machines! Yes, they're a bit more expensive than many other bits, but if you want to bite large chunks with minimal breakage, or small chunks with little to no breakage, use this bit. So far I have used this on maple, oak, hickory and cherry and am very happy with its performance. I have probably about 100 bits with carbide tipped bits (please don't even think about ever using regular steel) ranging from tiny profiles to large plate lifting bits and this bit is one of the best cutting bits. The bearing rotates smoothly and is a standard size that allows you to set different diameters and adjust the cut as needed. If you're serious about woodworking, these bits are seriously worth considering. If I find a need for a new profile or to replace an old worn tip I will buy more of these.

Pros
  • cutting edge
Cons
  • brittle
