I bought it because Naptural85 ran out of Melanin Extending Cream. The Garnier product is heavy. I used it on my 1 year old's hair. She has type 4b hair, rather curly. They frizz when water touches them, so the oil helps stretch the hair. It is very moisturizing and has a light scent. I also used my niece's 4c hair with Ecostyler and JBCO on the ends. Small things have a big impact. Most likely, it will be the main product, since it is much cheaper than melanin. I would say it works on multiple hair types. I would suggest using less on loose hair and more on coarse hair. This is a hair oil, so it will weigh down your hair. Haven't used it on dry hair yet except when moisturizing my daughters ends. its texture.
