Adapter worked on Linux Ubuntu 16.04 out of the box, nothing special. My onboard Bluetooth motherboard was having range and latency issues, so I decided to try the adapter. While this worked without any issues, I still got some interference that caused lag and poor range. So I got this adapter and a 6ft USB 2.0 extension cable. This allowed me to place the adapter on the back of my desk and solved the latency issue (I use it with an 8Bitdo NES30 wireless controller). He even caught devices in my apartment. The range is really good. I also used a Panda WiFi adapter on another computer, they are one of the few companies that make reliable products for Linux. would recommend.
