To properly use this product you will need a pointed tap and a 3/32 inch drill bit. Use a tap to score a point in the center of the spot weld. Next, place the drill on the threaded spot tip on the spot weld and drill a pilot hole through it. Then switch the drill to a spot welding tool. You want to cut through the first layer of metal but not the second layer. This way you can use a hand chisel (or pneumatic chisel) to separate the top layer of sheet metal that needs to be replaced. were pretty bad I got the original factory floor pans from CarParts.com and decided to gut the interior. The previous shop worked in some areas (brass welding was used) but I needed to remove as much metal as possible to properly replace the floors. This is the same version of the tool I used in my technical school. The really cool thing about this tool is that if the head breaks, it can be removed, flipped and reinstalled - all without having to remove it from the drill press. So each head has two cutting nozzles. "HSS" stands for "high-strength steel" (e.g. hard metal steel).
