For a long time I resisted the purchase. I've tried mixing and blending matcha using a battery powered stir stick and other kitchen utensils. They seem to work but never satisfy me. After looking at different whisks for matcha, they are almost the same. So I went with this one based on the best combination of price/rating/performance. To be honest I am very surprised how useful and easy to use this tool is. And the key to keeping the whisk in good condition is to wash it immediately after use and put it on the holder. Overall I am very satisfied and have bought more sets as gifts for my friends.
