Works well and very accurate. The range is also very good, probably 15-20 meters with walls and spaces in between. I had to deduct a star because the setup/configuration process could have been easier. I don't see the need for any buttons. You just have to use it and play with it a bit to understand it, and the repetition will help you remember the order in which things are laid out. The display also has to be viewed almost directly, but that's a minor annoyance for such a powerful device. In truth, the 4-prong Maverick model is probably the best configuration, as it's useful for measuring multiple meat temperatures and/or multiple temperature ranges in a smoker or grill, as temperatures are often uneven.
