I purchased this item in June 2017. As of February 2018 it is completely out of service. The display on the receiver no longer works. I tried to contact the manufacturer/supplier but got no response. This seems particularly bad for a product and company that you don't expect from 'low-end'. Do not buy this or any other product from the same manufacturer.

Pros
  • Durability Test Results

  • Security

Must have for any BBQ/Smoker

Works great. Once you understand how to program. Made several programming attempts, but after programming it works perfectly. I set the temperature, closed the lid, and was free to enjoy a cigar, scotch, and baseball while my meat slowly cooked. One sensor was used for meat and one for the camera which sets low and high alarms. Worked great. Take the guesswork out of cooking meat properly.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Not sure

Not sure why it took so long to buy them. Over the years I've thrown away over $100 on other cheap thermometers. You should just have bought these things in advance and be happy from the start. Excellent unit. There is currently a Probe in the Boston Ass, another on the Grill and I have no doubts that it will be PERFECT! Only thing I wish it had room for 1 more probe but that's just nitpicking!

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Some issues

This is a good product. It's a little difficult, but fine after that.

This is a good product. It's a little tricky, but good after a little practice. The reason for only four stars is that I'm disappointed that the thermometer only goes to 570 degrees while some recipes for my Kamado grill call for 700 degrees. The food sensor is fine, but if I want to measure temperatures over 570 degrees on a Kamado grill, I have to rely on a grill thermometer rather than a Maverick thermometer.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost everything included

RECEIVER DISPLAY FADING AFTER 1 YEAR.

The system worked fine for about a year. After that, the display of the receiver became more and more difficult to read with each use. About 1/2 segments of the LCD display are darkened, making it difficult to interpret the readings. Initially, I liked many of the programmable features. But as others have reported, it's quite difficult to remember the programming sequence without checking the instructions every cooking season. So much so that I usually left the settings alone and read the temp…

So far so good: Meat

Works well and very accurate. The range is also very good, probably 15-20 meters with walls and spaces in between. I had to deduct a star because the setup/configuration process could have been easier. I don't see the need for any buttons. You just have to use it and play with it a bit to understand it, and the repetition will help you remember the order in which things are laid out. The display also has to be viewed almost directly, but that's a minor annoyance for such a powerful device. In…

The settings are too complicated, the display is dark, otherwise . Eh!

Seems to work fine; although the sensors show different temperatures in the same place. The plastic feels a bit cheap and can break easily. Probe cables are a bit short for oven use. And the display isn't very bright; You have to look at it almost straight on at 90 degrees or it's too dark to read. My main complaint has to do with the instructions and the number of buttons you have to press to install the most basic features. The complex sequence of key presses and almost cryptic instructions…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
