The system worked fine for about a year. After that, the display of the receiver became more and more difficult to read with each use. About 1/2 segments of the LCD display are darkened, making it difficult to interpret the readings. Initially, I liked many of the programmable features. But as others have reported, it's quite difficult to remember the programming sequence without checking the instructions every cooking season. So much so that I usually left the settings alone and read the temp gauge while watching the target temp and didn't use the alarm settings. It's a good device, but I'm very disappointed that it didn't last longer.
