Bought for the C-pillars of a 2000 Honda CRV. The originals stayed intact, but since I bought them I was able to use them. Being brand new they are really thick. The strut nut could not be screwed on as no threads were left open when used. I even tried squeezing them with the "C" clamp to crush them. Vain. Maybe the original Honda racks had a big thread, didn't think to check it. (New KYB struts installed.) The clock was ticking and I hadn't even finished the first strut. Just left the originals in. Wouldn't take them unless absolutely necessary. Of course, you probably won't know about this until you disassemble your old rack.
