I have not updated this device since January and the weather is very hot. So I put it in the microwave for four minutes and it came out with a hole in it! Obviously you'll have to wait for the indicator to turn pink. OK. However, this is not in the paragraph with other instructions. To be honest it's on the Barska support page. Maybe it's because of the instructions I threw away. After several emails, which were answered promptly, they honestly offered to replace the item for a $10 fee. Remember that the item costs $12.99. purchased are legible; The pearl changes color and you plug it in to refresh/dry. If it returns to the original color, you're done. I usually update them every few months. Perhaps this item will absorb much more moisture. But I don't want to trust my hardware to something that gets so little feedback. Finally, it took me maybe 1/2 hour of my time to 1) find their support site, 2) fill out the form - it took 3 tries. to ensure they passed, and 3) read and answer their questions. Again, this is a $12.99 item. I didn't like the design.
