My fridge is about eight years old and I wanted to keep an eye on the temperature in case it starts to wear out. These thermometers are the answer. They probably don't meet scientific standards, but they're fit for purpose. I found that the readings of the two thermometers differed by about two or three degrees at room temperature. When I set it up next to a known-accurate thermometer, the true temperature seemed somewhere in the middle, so I'd rate it as fairly accurate, at least at room temperature. I put one in the fridge and the other in the freezer. I found that although each was within the required temperature range, there was some temperature difference depending on where I placed the thermometers. Interesting. I love that the thermometers have color bars for each temperature range. If they're closer to the back of the shelf, the numbers can be hard to read, but with a color bar, it's easy to read the temperature. I feel like I can relax now and if I ever see the temperature start to rise I know it's time to replace the fridge.
