Well I finally got them both compatible, remove both old racks, you don't need the old pins. Then attach the bottom end first. Press on the torso with your shoulder and tilt slightly to secure the top. It doesn't matter which side you choose first, just follow the same process for the second rack. I went ahead and sprayed a quick drying silicone spray on all the hinges after installation.
