The trunk finally works as it should

The trunk lowered quickly and was dangerous. These racks solve that problem. They were easy to install. They are slightly longer than the factory. Watch the installation video on YouTube and read the comments for tricks that make installation easier.

Pros
  • The new
Cons
  • is embarrassing

Fits great, works better

For those who say it's too long, it's not. You need to squeeze them slightly, and then as they stretch, push them into place. I weigh 190 pounds and it was hard for me to put my weight on them to squeeze them alone so bring a friend! Fits great and doesn't bang on the barrel anymore :)

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • faded

Trunk no longer pops! Ok but not great!

I was replacing my old luggage racks on my 2017 Q50 as my trunk kept slamming shut when not fully open. Installation was pretty easy, no problems. I just wish there was a little more pressure on the struts because my trunk is still closed when I unlock it so I have to pull the trunk about halfway and then the struts open my trunk. Overall my trunk doesn't slam anymore and that was the main reason I bought these replacement parts and they fixed the problem.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • This is driving me insane

This is a job for one person. Just don't forget to remove the spacers!

I see a lot of people having trouble with the installation because the spacers seem to be too long. It will be much easier if you remove the two "mantle" spacers from the back of the trunk hinges. With one hand, lower the trunk lid a few inches (don't let go) and with the other hand remove the seal (one side at a time. It can be detached with your thumbnail) and then raise the lid again. Connect the bottom of the rack first, then open the trunk with one hand and pull the top of the rack into…

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Periodicity

She fought back - Spares

Well I finally got them both compatible, remove both old racks, you don't need the old pins. Then attach the bottom end first. Press on the torso with your shoulder and tilt slightly to secure the top. It doesn't matter which side you choose first, just follow the same process for the second rack. I went ahead and sprayed a quick drying silicone spray on all the hinges after installation. Then I SLOWLY shook the trunk about halfway, then SLOWLY let it open fully, doing this about 3 or 4 times…

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly
