I see a lot of people having trouble with the installation because the spacers seem to be too long. It will be much easier if you remove the two "mantle" spacers from the back of the trunk hinges. With one hand, lower the trunk lid a few inches (don't let go) and with the other hand remove the seal (one side at a time. It can be detached with your thumbnail) and then raise the lid again. Connect the bottom of the rack first, then open the trunk with one hand and pull the top of the rack into place with the other hand. It takes a little opening force to align them, but they continue to function without compressing the post. Don't forget to put the plastic tabs back in! A big improvement over the factory shelves. The trunk lid is now practically weightless. No more pops!
