I thought I was having trouble with something under the hood or even the transmission. In certain speed ranges, a screeching can be heard, give it a little gas and suddenly stop. I ordered a new roll for the old tensioner. But then I thought why not install a new tensioner first. the noise is gone. My guess is that the grease in the pulley is too thick and is causing the pulley to slow down and the belt to slip. Since this is for the air conditioning, you can probably drive it normally and endure the squeak. Maybe it will go away some time after the lube is spread. The pulley is now on my old tensioner as a spare that I have in the car. Yes, I am one of those guys who keeps spares in the truck and you want it too when driving long distances. So if you get that tensioner and suddenly hear what sounds like your truck is in serious trouble, be forewarned.
