Unlike many aftermarket pads they actually have an extra cleaning strip which is made of a different and rougher material. They're not meant to be soaked, so I don't know what any of the reviewers are talking about - they're supposed to release steam, which is just superheated water and exiting the water as intended. Update May 15, 2021: I've ordered half a dozen more of these, still the same good quality, same cleaning strips, and they don't make you buy the basic ones just to get the heavy duty strips. Each takes about two months with 1,600 square feet of tiles cleaned weekly in a very dusty desert environment.
