When I originally bought them I bought them for a friend of mine and installed them in his shop and they worked just great. So when it came time to upgrade the network in my house, I decided I would definitely go back to them. The only problem is that they are really terrible in my house. First of all, there is nothing special in my house - jammers, competing Wi-Fi signals, etc. got 30 Mbps from a 100 Mbps connection that I paid for, I was shocked, of course. Still not believing it was an access point I called the cable company to come and measure the line and they tested it at over 120Mbps. Testing the access point directly on the line would be troublesome. There is a "hidden" DHCP option that you can access, but there is NO BUILT-IN DHCP that works. Even after setting up a "hidden" DHCP setting, addresses are never leaked. The access point is therefore always behind the router/switch. In the end, I found that after disabling all SSIDs except the main SSID, the connection speed doubled. Note that I did NOT enable throttling for the two networks and literally no one logged into the guest network. After disabling the guest network and some other features, I tested the speed from the access point at the following distances (always twice for each location) and used the following speeds: 6' - 63 Mbit/s (I did about 10 tests here and 63 was the maximum speed. The average was about 58.15ft - 42Mbps (not good for the location on my stairs) 15ft - 35Mbps (living room on the ground floor. It's 10ft down and a bit further away from the access point) 35 feet - 3 - 10 Mbps (office below - this is where I do remote work from home, including remote access to servers and systems across America, and 3 Mbps does NOT cut) After doing the above 3 Mbps (sometimes it was only 0.5-2), I had to rip the whole router/switch/access point out of the house and stack it in the middle of my wife's office to get enough signal to do my work do main eil von E The problem I'm having is that I'm trying to get the full connection speed over the wireless network and why I haven't seen this on a previous setup that ran at 10Mbps over satellite. Since one test involved a full factory reset and it still didn't go above 63Mbps, I guess I just have to use the hosting to my advantage. 3 stars because they work, but their top speed is sluggish and not all features work.
