This case has a JMicron JMS583 chip which is very good. However, it's a very thin aluminum case that can't absorb heat fast enough, and the circuit board just slides inward, so there's not good contact between the drive and the case (there has to be an air gap in it or it can't be pushed in will). I think it's just not a very good design. In short, it gets very hot with my drive and overheats. I'm replacing it with a QNINE case which I think is the best design for only $5 more and is much better at dissipating heat. Although this case was so warm I wouldn't touch it with bare hands unlike QNINE which barely gets warm (with the same drive and application).
