These little guys are very light and easy to store. However, before I decided to use them as backpacks for hiking, I did a little waterproofing test. For the most part they did fine, but if the top seam got wet, the water would rush in and soak everything inside. As long as the folded tops were dry, they worked. I wouldn't recommend these if you need dry bags for hiking or hiking. If you only need them for packing travel bags, they will work. Do not put valuables in them and other than them, so as not to get wet in the downpour.
