Good for hobby and non-professional use

I received this force sensor for personal use and product testing. I've used a few at work that are professional quality and I can tell you they don't match the level of durability that they have. But you wouldn't expect that for the price. It comes in a decent carrying case with foam inserts measuring 12.125 x 7.875 x 2.5 inches. The sensor appears to be accurate; I've tested it with some known weights from 5 to 45kg (a bit tricky to hold by hand with larger weights) and it measures pretty well. The "Certificate of Calibration" has no traceability to any international standard, or indeed any standard that I could find online. attachment or suspension; The pole goes through so you can't hang it on the pole and pull the other end of the pole. This can be a problem if you want to use the hook with some sort of basket or hanger. The pull end only has a workable tip to attach it to (the hook) but it doesn't fit into the housing with the hook attached (pics) so I cut out some of the stuffing with a razor blade (pics) to make it fit while doing this attachment is on the hook. It has an opening of just 8mm, which in itself doesn't make it very useful. I will tie it with bigger hooks. There's a switch on the gauge that locks the dial at peak load, which is very useful - the instructions warn you (in legible Chinese-English) to stay in the "peak" position. Storage mode to avoid wearing out the springs. All in all this is a good product if you know what to expect. I was hoping he had good calibration records, but that wasn't the case. but I like to keep it in my tool box and hope it lasts for many years to come.
