I was hoping this little device would help install six cabinets with shelves and it did. It shouldn't be considered "professional" level, but it easily and accurately provides a clean, straight line for shelving components up to two meters in length. It comes with an attachment that uses a small sharp pin to insert into the wall plate. The laser block is attached to the nozzle with a magnet. And now the most important thing - I hit mine with a tape measure, and my laser level fell on the floor (tile), the battery cover fell off, batteries were scattered on the floor - I thought that was the end. I put the batteries back in, closed the lid and the device still worked great. You'll have to experiment a bit to see what works best for your application, but for the homeowner, this little device is perfect. Remember to push the switch all the way to the right to activate "self-leveling”. It aligns left, right and vertical with a selector.
