This helmet saved my life! older women's and children's helmets before and they work fine. This fits like a treat on my bare head, fitting snugly as it should be for maximum security. The first day I put it on I was hit by a car going through an intersection. The car ran a red light and collided with me. Most of my injuries were to the legs, shoulder and severe whiplash but not to the head. (I'm fine but my bike broke down). After being discharged from the hospital and returning home I had a chance to inspect my helmet and to my surprise it had a huge dent and scratches going in different directions. and inside the foam rubber had a tear going from the ear to the top center. I hit my head pretty hard, of course, but I didn't feel it and didn't get anything other than whiplash. If I wasn't wearing a helmet, there would have been that indentation in my skull and I might not have made it. As I've only used it once I can't confirm long term quality but with a snug fit it certainly did its main job of protecting my head well. I just bought a replacement and will use it when I'm fully recovered and have a new bike.
