Much better than using butt connectors. I routed the trailer connector through the plastic drain plug at the bottom of the spare tire well to the hitch because I will be adding a 7 pin trailer connector. This is not the method used in the instructions. The instructions say to leave the plug in the car and close the door on the wires. This does not work well when using a 7 pin trailer connector.
