This set has fallen in price so I rushed out and bought it almost a year ago. I've used them on gas, serpentine and glass cooktops. While the sides have a matte finish, they do scratch, but not terribly. Lids fit well and are easy to clean. They don't have built-in ventilation. The handles are shaped in such a way that a spoon can be placed in a recess. They're not very comfortable to lift, but they're not loose. I washed them in the dishwasher, it didn't damage the rivets or the pans. There is a slight discoloration on the inside but it is not permanent, if I hand wash the pans it will come off. They are easy to clean with the BLUE Scotchbrite pads, make sure not to scratch them! I was very happy with the quality. They are heavy and seem to distribute heat evenly.
