Review on Schwinn Thrasher Helmet Lightweight Microshell by Cameron Aleman

Bought this item for my 5 year old about 4 months ago; that I still considered recently purchased. However, one of the plastic straps on the inside (that holds the foam or padding and shell together) broke off the helmet (it was probably glued on). I'm not sure if I can fix it or if I can be safe again? It's winter now so my son has only used this helmet a couple of times. His last helmet lasted a very long time (it actually outgrew it). This one doesn't seem very secure. I bought because of the many positive reviews.
