Review on πŸ”‘ Protective Key Fob Flip Shell Case for Chevy Equinox/Sonic & GMC Terrain (2010-2017) by Jason Man

Didn't want to pay for a new key

The release button on my only original Chevy key fob was completely torn around the edges of the bottom button. As a result, the button kept shifting in my pocket. I really didn't want to pay for a key renewal because it was still working fine. I found this item on Revain and thought why not try it for $12. The only difference with this new key fob is that there is no Chevy logo on it. Big thing. It was very easy to take apart. Just so you know, it holds up great and won't fall apart on its own. The hardest part was taking the old one apart to get the key and board out. Wow! I cut my hands badly. So, a word of caution: I highly recommend going this route if you just need to replace your case, but wear gloves when attempting to disassemble the old one. I found a YouTube video of a young man doing this exchange using a Chevy keychain and had no problems. So what's new here? Tip: There is a thin strip of metal that presses down on the battery and holds it in place. My near vision isn't what it was 30 years ago and I didn't realize there was a slit where the strip was inserted. Once I figured that out, assembling a new one was a breeze.
