I have had this winch for about 5 years now. Was a real workhorse, first towed my full size Bronco and after I sold it I installed it in my Jeep Rubi. Has a very, very high line speed. About two years ago my winch motor burned out while pulling out a partner with a winch on a muddy road. Oh, not such a big winch you say? Well, I found out later that this was my own fault for improperly installing the winch without disconnecting the bottom drain holes (read the instructions!). Water has accumulated in the motor and I'm surprised it lasted so long. Anyway I sent the winch back to Warn with a letter describing what had happened and after they told me why the motor had failed they replaced the motor despite the expiry of the warranty. Otherwise it would have been a few hundred euros to repair. The technician who serviced my winch called me personally to let me know what was going on and even sent me good videos of jams and such afterwards. A very cool guy. The bottom line is that you can't go wrong when you have an organization as good as Warn backing your purchase. Yes, they are expensive, but in this case, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
