These items are great for cleaning your car and are advertised to get better with age until they stop working. I recently noticed that my '65 Mustang's hood has a lot of swirling scratches, a pattern I use for dust. If my wife hadn't fallen to the ground and lied about it, I'd say they have a finite lifespan. They get better over time until they soak up abrasive. I would suggest keeping an eye on your fairing and swapping it out if necessary as I will be spending a few hundred bucks on the detailing because I didn't. And no, washing doesn't work because it removes the wax that makes the item what it is. First time great. Bottom line: paying twelve bucks for something like this every few years is a heck of a lot cheaper than professional detailing.
