The rope floats and is clearly visible. The handle has a nice rubber grip. But if your dog suddenly decides to run, watch out for burns. They caught me a few times. Also, if you have more than 1 dog, be careful not to get confused. We found the mounts to be quite strong. Although sand got into the mechanism making them difficult to disengage. They dried pretty quickly in the sun. I've had several people ask where we got them from. I would recommend them if you have a playful dog but don't want to swim with them. I was afraid the rope would get tangled. Therefore, adult supervision is also required.
