*Update* - Our daughter is almost 4 years old now, has a medium head size and this helmet still fits her. She'll probably appreciate it in the next year or so, but I'm very glad we've been able to use it for 3 years now. Quality is good, no problems with breakage or plastic degradation. *Original post* - Our daughter is 15 months old. old and has a head size in the 70th percentile. This helmet fits her well and she is currently on the small side of the fitting range. I wish I had gotten a tape measure to give the general size range that this helmet fits. As many have said, the manufacturer's listing of age ranges is a joke for a reliable method of determining helmet size. The scale fit feature on this helmet works very well, it adjusts quickly and easily to a child's head and fits snugly inside the helmet so it doesn't move on the head. For me, being able to fit snugly on a baby's head is really a selling point. Having to put the helmet on and off multiple times to get it right would be tedious for me and would probably give my daughter a nervous breakdown. The construction of this helmet is similar to any other helmet in that it has a foam core with a thin decorative plastic shell covering the outside and soft foam padding cushioning the head on the inside. Our daughter loves to drag (read - drop) her helmet through the garage until the plastic casing cracks. Overall, I'm happy to have found a helmet that fits well and is easy to adjust.
