I purchased this item so my son can track how long he brushes his teeth. It used to have an old kitchen clock that I recently updated. I should explain to him that he's not supposed to clean electronics and that he's a bit dusty. I wanted to find something that would be easy for him to use as most of the new kitchen timers are very difficult for a child of that age. This timer is perfect. for him. He turns the bottom to get two minutes and pushes his head to start. Ten-second steps make dialing easier for him. This may sound silly if you don't have a small child. Realize that you just can't put a toothbrush in your mouth, wiggle it for a quick second and you're done. The timer helps him understand the expectations. Since then he has had wonderful visits to the dentist!
