Review on Harringdons Kitchen Cotton Absorbent Substitute by Liam Roth

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The towels met my needs and were great value for money!

I was a bit hesitant when ordering towels because I wanted a smooth surface for machine embroidery and the herringbone pattern can sometimes be "uneven". This was not the case when I found out when the towels arrived; so i was very happy with them. I found the towels attractive and I know they will look beautiful when embroidered. What surprised me was the color of the stripes. What I thought were red stripes (on 4 towels) turned out to be orange and yellow; the blue turned out to be blue and lavender; and the green bar was exactly what I expected. However, the stripes looked nice and didn't pose a big problem this time, but if I were to embroider a Christmas motif for example, that would be a different story because orange/yellow just doesn't go red when you want it. Christmas! Another issue with the strips was that the outside edge of the strip at the top of a towel was measured 1-5/8 from the outside edge of the towel and 2 inches from the outside edge at the bottom of the towel. It was obvious that the towel wasn't square when sewn together, but the problem isn't insurmountable as I can simply unbutton the side and bottom seams, cut off the side rectangle and hem again. Towels measured every 12 before gentle washing and again after washing and drying. I found that the towels I tested shrunk about 1 inch in length and 1 inch in width. Despite this, they are still large and I am satisfied with this aspect. The bottom line for me is that the towels met my needs and were good value for money. reasonable price I paid.
