I'm an engineer and this review was written from that perspective. This is definitely not the kind of slicer that a professional in a deli or restaurant would use. It has two disadvantages. One of them is plastic gears. Anyone using this slicer must ensure that the gears are installed correctly, otherwise there is a chance of them being torn off. The second downside is the cleaning. Be prepared to use a toothpick to remove food debris from some crevices. In this case, part of the remains of food will be inaccessible, and the case will have to be removed with screws. For the price I would call it a fair investment. I wouldn't expect it to last forever, but with proper use it should last 4-5 years or more.
