The button works fine. For those of you doing Dyson repairs, I've read a lot of forums and watched a lot of videos. My Dyson brush was intermittent. At first I thought it was a brushed motor and almost bought a new one. However, it turned out that the reset switch was the culprit. There are three buttons on the Dyson (my model was the DC24), two of which you use - the ON/OFF switch and the BRUSH-BAR ON/OFF - but the third is under the brush-bar's on/off switch hidden. Pressing the brush button also activates the reset switch momentarily to start the brush motor. Anyway, I saved over $100 with this purchase.
