I usually use a shampoo and then a separate conditioner. But after the original surgery, I developed a severe postoperative infected abscess around the cervical spinal cord (the neurosurgeon forgot to put a drain!)! I needed a second surgery to clean the area and after that a wound vacuum was placed on the back of my lower neck. To wash my hair my husband had to wrap a saran bandage (which was often used during COVID) around my neck and then wash my hair thoroughly in the kitchen sink to avoid getting the wound wet and vacuumed! It's not that easy, so I didn't want to use shampoo and conditioner! I found the product to be good. I don't have very thick and curly hair. It kind of untangles what I've got and it ventilates, maybe not as well as a separate air conditioner, but decent. And I didn't leave it in the conditioner as long as I would have. So I was happy with this product. A little goes a long way. The pump works fine too. A good product.
