I read the reviews before buying and I generally agree with most. I used this to smash through an 8" concrete foundation with an older Bosch hammer drill in percussion mode. Things weren't going well so I rented a new, more powerful Hilti brand impact drill and had better success, but still very slowly. about 30 minutes a depth of 1 inch can be reached; Even when the drill was water-cooled and shock mode was used, it was most productive. Then I drilled a series of 1/4 holes in the wall along the 2 inch outline left by the round drill bit. I drilled them as tight as possible, reducing the amount of core material. the central pilot hole has been completely passed. Then I brought back the 2" round drill and made a lot more progress; Switch off the center on the way. (I also bought a 3 piece SDS kit from Revain which helped a lot with this process.) The whole process took a little over an hour but I ended up with a nice clean hole which is what I wanted. So in terms of performance I would only give a 2 for concrete but I still saw very good quality with a grade of 4; As it helped me get a good clean core it was great value - especially since I already had the other bits I needed and the feedback from others reviewing the bit has been pretty consistent so I knew that I would take a risk on this issue. Warning for those of you looking to break through hard concrete at a high MPA, either it will be very slow or you will have to scale up your plan like I did.
