Good price, glad I bought two!

Of course I can't complain about the price of the bits. I accidentally bought two when I only needed one and I'm glad I did. I had to drill 6 holes in 10 inch poured concrete walls with this bit in a Milwaukee masonry drill bit. It took about 40 minutes to drill each hole. The screw held in the center guide cap is not doing its job. Expect it to loosen every minute or so and eventually break due to over tightening. I broke mine as well as a few spares (6mm metric thread). I also tried attaching

Pros
  • Simple operation, easy handling and fast punching.
Cons
  • threadbare

I read the reviews before buying and I generally agree with most. I used this to smash through an 8" concrete foundation with an older Bosch hammer drill in percussion mode. Things weren't going well so I rented a new, more powerful Hilti brand impact drill and had better success, but still very slowly. about 30 minutes a depth of 1 inch can be reached; Even when the drill was water-cooled and shock mode was used, it was most productive. Then I drilled a series of 1/4 holes in the wall alongโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Made of carbide-tipped metal, very durable.
Cons
  • not reliable

I am running 2 inch PVC piping between two buildings and the piping had to be routed underground. The first design is a foundation of cinder blocks with poured concrete in the cavities of the blocks. Using an older Ryobi 1 2" impact drill, I punched through the cinder block fairly quickly, but it was clear I'd burn the Ryobi trying to punch through the concrete. And a plain Ryobi cartridge wouldn't last longer than the SDS bit Hold for 30 seconds at a time. For any heavy-duty job, a drill withโ€ฆ

Pros
  • SDS plus shank male thread adapter perfectly replaces your broken adapter with drill chuck.
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
