Stunning classic
Mom passed her copy on to me and now to her daughter. I buy copies for all my nieces. That's a real treasure. The text is amazing and the illustrations will never be forgotten. I understand that a new version was released, but I can't imagine it would match the original (I haven't heard any good reviews). I have so many great memories from this book: Hitty trapped in a horsehair couch, life with a little Quaker girl, spent weeks in a crow's nest. It brought my own traditional dolls (not barbies!) to life for me. It also presents a vivid historical portrait of the lives of American girls. Don't let this go out of stock!
