The thumb warmer can get very hot, so adjust it to suit your needs. Installation is pretty easy if you have some basic tools. If you are unsure of the correct wiring, refer to the owner's manual. You want to connect to an extra power cord (one that's only live when your key to your car is "ON"). I used the positive wire that goes to the auxiliary socket, knowing that it was only live when the key was turned to the "ON" position.
